Documenting genuine and heart felt moments between a baby and their new world is something I absolutely love. The fuzzy booties, knit sweaters, and scarf swaddle are immediate give aways that this newborn session was photographed earlier this year in the midst of winter. Baby Penelope’s session was extra special with the addition of her two siblings making an appearance throughout the day. Her brother and sister ensured there was no shortage of excitement, laughter and fun! Penelope was a natural in front of the camera, flashing her adorable smile countless times- take a look!
Having just recently completed my first full year in business and with the back to school season in full swing, now is the perfect time to look back and reflect. This past year I had the privilege of documenting countless memories, and in the process was fortunate enough to meet some seriously beautiful people along the way! Each of which deserve some big thank you's!
Thank you to my clients, without you this crazy dream of mine would not be possible. Thank you to my mentors within the industry for your constant encouragement and guidance. Thank you to my mentors outside of the industry for pretending to understand wedding lingo, shutter speeds, and bokeh, while offering much needed advice regarding taxes and accounting. Thank you to my family and friends for your numerous referrals and acting as my personal cheerleaders. Lastly, thank you to my parents for inspiring me every single day as you continue to demonstrate what true love looks like!
The friendships, relationships and connections that I have made and maintained over the past year have been invaluable to my life, both business and personal. I am truly so appreciative! There is something to be said for loving what you do each and every day. I am so fortunate to have found my niche within the wedding and lifestyle photography industry. Having the opportunity to create memories for couples and families that will be treasured for years to come is something I am honoured to be a part of.
I cannot wait to see what year 2 brings!
When my cousin delivered her precious baby boy this past December my first question was: “How are you feeling?” My second question followed soon after: “When am I coming over to take newborn photos?” Her answer being something along the lines of, "As soon as freaking possible!"
One short week later I found myself staring intently into the wide eyes of precious baby Jonathan. All that kept racing through my mind were thoughts of how fragile and perfect he was in every way, however I am almost positive he was looking back at me thinking to himself "Who the heck are you, and why in the world do you keep putting this camera in my face while I am trying to sleep?" Fair enough - haha.
I had such a wonderful time visiting little Jonathan, and absolutely loved being a part of his first ever professional photo shoot!
From the moment I entered baby Levi's home I knew this newborn session was going to be a hit! Upon my arrival I was instantly greeted at the door by Toby, an adorable goldendoodle who could not contain his excitement at the prospect of a new friend (full disclosure: I am undeniably obsessed with goldendoodles... so much so that when I saw this puppy my face looked strikingly similar to the heart eyed emoji).
After handsome little Levi changed into a cozy outfit we all (Toby in tow) retreated to the nursery to photograph this precious new baby in his stunning nursery. I say stunning because this gender neutral, cream and metallic toned room looked like something that easily could have come straight out of a magazine or from a Pinterest board!
From checking out his surroundings while laying in his crib, to dozing off on his fathers shoulder Levi was a perfect model the entire time. My heart was full after photographing this new family. Take a moment to check out a few of my favourites from Levi's newborn session!
